The end of a most-excellent day--a sunset tandem with my favorite co-pilot.
I didn't take enough pictures today. I should have documented relaxed chatting with friends at the condo, a great visit with the Harbinsons (who flew up for the day), my first launches off Green Monster (run, run, run), and a sunset tandem. Life is good.

Soccer Kids 9.10.11
I finally made it to the Tri-Cities during soccer season. I've been wanting to get over to watch Bevan play since he started a few years ago. Ended up my timing wasn't too bad. It just happened to be Erika's very first game, too.
Bevan doing drills during warm up.
Lining up for more drills.
Erika running after the ball.
Lynn, Erika and I on the sidelines at Bevan's game.

Heyburn State Park, 7.27.11 - Campfire
Erika and Rowan were the first to gravitate toward the fire as marshmallow time approached.
Kids like marshmallows. No surprise, I guess. Fire and sugar are a winning combination.
Erika's preferred marshmallow method: char it and eat it straight from the roasting stick.
This is a weird one--a strange accident. Barry's flash went off at the moment I took the photos. He's the light with legs in the background. Not sure how the fire showed up on Bevan's front. Maybe a double exposure?
Almost time for bed.

Heyburn State Park, 7.27.11 - Cousins
Couldn't resist lining up for some pictures.
A pretty great group of kids.
The parents lined up to document their progeny.
The adults lined up for their turn as well. It's been a long time since we were all together. Great thanks to Dana for thinking of it!
Just couldn't resist posting this one. This is a little girl with an expressive face. She survived, not a tear was shed, but her thoughts on the whole thing were known.

Heyburn State Park, 7.27.11 - Walking the Bridge
Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes ran right along the lake by our campsite. It made for fun runs, bike rides, and walks during our weekend gathering. Bevan and I stopped for awhile to watch a bird feeding on bugs in the log jam against the old rail bridge.
Rowan, Nolan and Bevan, with Barry coming up behind.
A panoramic shot with a disappearing rail.

Crater Lake 6.26.11
We took a side trip to Crater Lake on the way home from Rat Race. The snow levels were pretty amazing for late June. Notice CJ's award-winning cookies, too.
This canine biker was spotted in the parking lot, getting a break from his little travel trailer.
The lake was completely still. The reflections were beautiful.
Picture perfect background for this snapshot. Foreground isn't too shabby either.
Wide open space on the Pumice Desert.

Mt. Rainier, 3.19.11 - Igloos, the main attraction
It started with making outlines in the snow.
Then cutting out blocks.
Cut out a lot of blocks and you end up with a pit.
We all worked. Cutting, carrying, stacking blocks. The mountain looked on.
And, they start to look like igloos.
Getting close.
Shoring up number 2. More blocks!
The first look inside number 1.
Shovels in the doorway.
Number 2 looked nice in the evening light.
Getting ready to sleep in our igloo.
Night, night.
